Tragic Accident on Makran Coastal Highway Near Kund Malir: Over 20 Injured

In a tragic incident today, a passenger bus traveling from Karachi to Turbat met with a severe accident near Kund Malir on the Makran Coastal Highway in Balochistan’s Lasbela district.

According to local sources, the bus was en route to Turbat when it overturned, reportedly due to overspeeding and poor road conditions. The accident occurred in the early hours of the morning, causing panic among passengers.

Rescue teams arrived promptly at the scene and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Initial reports indicate that over 20 passengers sustained injuries, some of them serious. The identities of the injured are yet to be confirmed by the authorities.

Eyewitnesses reported that the bus lost control while taking a turn on a steep section of the road. The Makran Coastal Highway, although scenic and crucial for regional connectivity, has seen a number of such incidents due to lack of safety barriers and inadequate traffic regulation.

This incident once again highlights the urgent need for improved road safety measures and strict enforcement of traffic laws along the Makran Coastal Highway, especially in areas like Kund Malir which are known for their dangerous curves and isolated stretches.
