Transporters Demand Compensation for Burnt Tankers in Moro

In the wake of the recent unrest in Moro, a group of transporters has come forward demanding compensation for fuel tankers that were set ablaze during violent clashes in the area. The incident, which has left many livelihoods shattered, has sparked outrage among tanker drivers and transport union leaders, who are now urging government authorities to take swift action.

According to reports, several fuel tankers were set on fire during the conflict, resulting in the complete loss of expensive vehicles and the fuel they were carrying. The transporters argue that they were not involved in the unrest and that their vehicles were targeted unjustly. For many, these tankers represented their primary source of income.

Speaking to the media, one transporter said, “Our tankers were caught in the middle of a situation we had nothing to do with. Now we’re left with debts and no means to support our families. We demand justice and fair compensation.”

The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has also weighed in on the matter, calling on both federal and state governments to investigate the matter thoroughly and provide relief to affected members. The union emphasized the importance of protecting critical infrastructure and the rights of workers who play an essential role in keeping the economy moving.

Community leaders in Moro have echoed these concerns, warning that failure to address the issue could deepen tensions and undermine peace efforts in the region. “These are hardworking citizens who have lost everything through no fault of their own,” one local elder remarked. “They deserve support, not silence.”

As investigations continue, the affected transporters are holding onto hope that their cries for justice will not go unheard. Meanwhile, they have vowed to continue peaceful protests until their demands for compensation are met.
