Pak Army Shoots Down Indian Quadcopter at LoC
In a significant development along the Line of Control (LoC), Pakistan’s military announced that it had successfully shot down an Indian quadcopter that violated its airspace on Tuesday. The incident took place in the Rakhchikri Sector of the LoC, where Pakistan Army troops responded promptly to the airspace violation.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the surveillance drone intruded approximately 150 meters into Pakistani territory. The army’s quick response neutralized the drone before it could carry out any intelligence-gathering mission.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred. Over the past few years, several Indian quadcopters have been intercepted and destroyed by Pakistani forces. The ISPR has often emphasized that these frequent airspace violations are a breach of international norms and can escalate tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
Military analysts suggest that these incursions are likely aimed at gathering real-time intelligence about troop movements and infrastructure. However, Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The incident has once again drawn attention to the fragile peace along the LoC and the ongoing tensions between the two countries. Diplomatic channels have not yet issued an official statement regarding the event.
