Order to Leave India and Seema Haider’s Plea

Following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the Government of India has suspended visa services for Pakistani citizens. This decision has raised fears that Seema might be deported.Originally from the Sindh province in Pakistan, Seema was previously married. However, she illegally entered India through Nepal, along with her four children, to marry Sachin Meena.Now, in a video message that has gone viral, Seema can be seen appealing to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In her emotional plea, she says, “I was Pakistan’s daughter, now I am India’s daughter-in-law. Please allow me to stay here. I do not want to return to Pakistan.”Seema also stated that after her marriage, she converted to Hinduism.Meanwhile, Seema’s lawyer, A.P. Singh, expressed hope that she will be allowed to stay in India. According to him, Seema should no longer be considered a Pakistani citizen.He explained, “Seema has married Sachin Meena, a resident of Greater Noida, and recently gave birth to a daughter named ‘Bharati Meena’. Therefore, her citizenship is now linked to her Indian husband. The Indian government’s decision to suspend visas for Pakistanis should not apply to her.”
